In recent years, the CA2M Museum has been working together with the educational community at Federico García Lorca CEIP on a number of projects, allowing us to build new relationships between the school and the museum. This school year, we are interested in delving with the students into the imaginaries of the unknown in order to subvert the usual way of classifying the world.

COVEN OF FANZINES: READING GROUP
This year, we want to focus on the books that inhabit our shelves. Under the guidance of the library manager, Sonia Seco, we will bring to light some bibliographic oddities; these, in turn, will lead us to an endless number of possible texts and readings.

LEAVING FEAR BEHIND
An activity designed for groups of secondary-school students that revolves around exhibitions and focuses on generating meaningful experiences and establishing a direct link between contemporary artistic practices and students, encouraging curiosity and collective creation.

OUT OF THE MUD
In the classroom of the CA2M Museum there are numerous ceramic pieces that were moulded by the groups that visited us during the year 2022. We invited infant and primary school classes to take part in this collective action in which we imagine an answer to this question: What can we do with those clay pieces? Leave the school and enter the museum to touch, change, break, make noise and soften.

EASY: MEETINGS TO THINK ABOUT INCLUSION
We will focus on the concept of easy reading, i.e. the method that brings together a set of guidelines and recommendations on the drafting of texts, the design and layout of documents and the validation of their comprehensibility, aimed at making information accessible to people with reading comprehension difficulties.

UNEVEN DANCE: WORKSHOP WITH OHIANA ALTUBE
Uneven Dance is a workshop where you can practise typical partner dances as part of a trio. It is designed for all body types and for those who have had all kinds of experiences on dance floors, in nightclubs and ballrooms. Dancing in threes means we have to arrange ourselves in a different way, and the resulting movements and dances become radically new.

EXHIBITION TOURS - JUAN MUÑOZ: IN THE VIOLET HOUR
We propose a tour of the exhibition "Juan Muñoz. In the violet hour". Through these visits we will get to know the works of the artist's early career to discover his interests in surveillance architecture, archaeology, hearing, domestic interiors, theatre, poetry, optical floors and much more.

TRAILS THROUGH THE CA2M MUSEUM
During these months, the exhibitions will be full of objects that we will be able to fly over, contemplate from above or from closer. We propose to wander among them, under their protection, let ourselves be touched and see what happens in this encounter.

SOUTHERN CITY. BROWN COAST.
Ciudad Sur (‘Southern City’) is a space for shared experimentation in which we will approach Móstoles as post-tourist guides to tour a series of architectures made up of layers of time, experiences and experiences around what we call free time. The dormitory town will become a holiday town.

DOWN TO EARTH: FILM EXPERIENCES TO COME DOWN TO EARTH
This audiovisual programme is based on the hypothesis that the ecological crisis is also manifested in the image. The cycle is made up of four audiovisual works, each of them framed by an introductory activity in which the relationship with the climate crisis and the problem of its representation in the image are addressed. The programme is completed with talks, workshops and collective exercises.

WHERE THE TIGER EATS THE CHILDREN: LULLABY WORKSHOP
A group of mothers in the physical post-partum recovery period will come together to create the lyrics, melody and rhythm of songs to help their babies sleep.

COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY LABORATORY 2023
Since its inception, the Roof Terrace Garden was conceived as a space with a mission to go much further than a simple organic agricultural school, and with the goal to build a community. Today that challenge is more pressing than ever, and for this reason we need to open up our horizons and underscore the need for a direct practice of sustainability in cities, reinforcing concepts like grow-your-own, self-sufficiency, DIY and kilometre-0 production, incentivizing a culture of proximity.

PICNIC SESSIONS 2023. PALABRA CHACHACHÁ
The Picnic Society was born in London at the beginning of the 19th century, an association that met regularly in the open air and at whose gatherings each member was expected to provide part of the entertainment and refreshments without a specific host. Based on this concept, and in the manner of the Picnic Society, the Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo invites several curators each year to design a programme for the Museum's terrace. Every Thursday from the end of May until the end of June.

Activities Publications

3_Eras is an unpublished text by José Luis Brea based on the film version of the book Las tres eras de la imagen. This film, made by María Virginia Jaua and José Luis Brea, included visual and sonic imagery.
